3D Box

One of my favorite features in Photoshop is Smart Objects. As designers, we have to show our clients mockups of the product they ordered. Instead of having to switching to Photoshop for such a simple task, we wanted to provide you with a simple 3D box we designed using Adobe Fireworks. This box is created based on the tutorial by Matt Stow titled Using Symbols to Create a Quick and Easily Updatable Photo Montage.

To edit the front and the side of the box with your own image:

  1. Click on the layer
  2. Go to Modify >> Symbol >> Edit Symbol

Make sure your image is the same size as the default/demo image. Furthermore, in order for this to work, you will also have to Flatten all items in the Edit Symbol window. If you do not, this will distort the object as a whole.
