FWPolice V2 and Mystery Project If you have been following us on Twitter, Facebook, Dribble or Forrst, you may have seen some sneak peeks into the new version of the Fireworks Police and our Mystery Project. Today we are here to put your mind at ease by officially introducing the Fireworks Police version 2. Furthermore we would like to reveal our mystery project, which is the re-birth of one of our past project, I am Fireworks. Fireworks Police V2 We loved the look and feel of our previous website. However, after numerous feedback and studies into the user experience (both users and staff), we have come to realize that our website needed some work. That is why we went looking for a fresh new look. After spending weeks in search, we decided that we would be going back to our days as Geekius, we wanted to be a blog style website again. With this change in mind, we quickly found a theme we fell in love with. That theme was Lightly by plus62 from ThemeForest. Lightly is a light-weight theme for news or magazine website, well designed, well coded and more importantly easy to use. Furthermore, because of its simple coding style and structure, we can manipulate and modify this design to our needs with ease. Lightly is also: responsive/Adaptive layout, that allows our website to fit to any screen resolution including mobile devices, coded in HTML5 and CSS3 with cross-browser compatibility as its focus, graceful fallback for older browser, supports numerous WordPress 3 (the CMS we use) features, widgetized, adsense ready, and localization ready Our team has finished all of the customization work that will allow our team to easily post resources, tutorials and announcement with ease. Furthermore, our plans to teach instead of just providing resources will be our goals for all future release. Advertisements We did state before that no advertisements will be seen our website. However, it has come to a point that we stopped receiving help from our visitors even though we receive close to quarter million hits every month. In total we have raised only $70 in donation. Our operations cost can be seen below. As you can see this is not enough for us to run not just FWPolice.com but also the other projects we have scheduled to release. For this purpose, we will be placing advertisements on select locations on our website. Domain: $1.50, Web-Hosting: $59.95 (x10premium), Security Certificate: $12 and more per month. If you are interested in advertising with us, drop an email to support[at]fwpolice[dot]com. I am Fireworks We launched I am Fireworks (IamFW) as a website where the public can share and download resources to their liking. It went fairly well the first month of release, but soon after, it became the home to phishers and spammers. We were forced, by our datacenter, to shut the website down. Since then, FWPolice has teamed up with Hannah of Fireworks Wireframing Kit and Linus from FireworksInterviews to bring you a premium resource site dedicated in providing .FW.PNG source files. Unlike the Fireworks Police resources (FWPolice.com), IamFW will come with any use license that will allow you to use your work for commercial purposes (not to be re-sold). IamFW will feature a number of resources with more added monthly. These resources will range from high quality web-elements (compatible with resources from GraphicRiver) to coded templates (compatible with ThemeForest and ElegantThemes). More details on this project will be covered when we launch, but here are a few resources that will be offered: Arkadium is an X-Y scrolling responsive site design. Social Sprites includes a series of commonly used social icons that transition using CSS ease. I wanted to create something that is super light weight and could easily be integrated to any site. The background for normal state icons are transparent, so it can easily adapt to any site and on hover will flip to the social networks color (for background). All of the icons are in one sprite png that totals 26.1 KB but will try to shrink it down more. Video Screenr Estago is a single page responsive layout that focuses on providing that classic stitch style feel. It is based on the 1140px Grid V2 by Andy Taylor that takes advantage of jQuery and CSS3 transitions that pulls you in quick. Firecons is an update to the current Fireworks CS6 common library icons. This update will include over 100 icons and comes with .FW.PNG file for you to edit them to your liking. Sazzad Hey there. I’m Sazzad, a User Experience Developer from New York City.
